Poland 2006

Saturday, July 15th, 2006

I made what is now an almost annual trip to Poland in late June. I was part of a team from Grace Community Church, sent to minister in music to Missionaries at their annual group meeting. The Missionaries numbered over 600, and were from the Central, and Eastern European regions. Here is a picture of the team in “old town” Warsaw.

The food in Poland, while certainly not bad, is a bit dificult to get used to. I enjoy beef, pork, and potatoes as much as anyone; but after a couple of days I found myself craving some “comfort food.” We had found a pizza joint nearby last year, and we had to hit it again after a couple days of Polish cuisine. I am a glutton for cheese, so I ordered the Quatro Formaggi pizza. Here I am with the aformentioned pizza, and violinist Dr. Aaron Hata.

Last year’s trip was a bit of a cake walk. This year we had many flight delays and lost luggage. Here is bassist Jay Smith and I proudly displaying our new “tops.”IMG_2239

Some of the team members were without their luggage for most of the trip.

Thanks to everyone who supported our trip. It was an honor to serve the Missionaries again in Central and Eastern Europe.
